Today, the person who commissioned me to paint a tall painting came to my studio… I had painted three, so he would have a choice. He chose a tall one, and unexpectedly, a square one! I am a lucky girl, and feel very grateful.

Dear Clothylde
It was my brother-in-law who commissioned these paintings of Sandsend and Ravenscar. I am in New Zealand and there is one of your calendars on the wall here which is lovely. I like your work very much, especially the beech tree and the bluebell wood, also “Mermaid” which you say is not in your current style, it’s a bit like Hokusai. I would like to have met you!
Friendly greetings from
Elizabeth
Dear Elizabeth, thank you for your comments. Hokusai truly was master of the wave. I did meet a very nice man from New Zealand yesterday, who said he really liked my work and has one of my calendar on his wall. I am unlikely to go to NZ, but if you come to England, it would be good to meet you. Best wishes, Clothylde.
Hello
Do you have any other paintings of Ravenscar for sale?
Kind regards,
Sarah
Hello Sarah. All my oil paintings of Ravenscar have been sold, but I can take on commissions, and I do have miniature watercolour paintings. I’ve emailed you. Thank you for liking my work!
